Perfection in You

A week ago, Alec and I went to Tettegouche State Park .
Being there took my breath away. How amazing is God's creation?
As I sat on the huge rocks by the shore line looking out to the gigantic Lake Superior, I thought to myself...
How can something this complicated look so simple?
The waves,
the birds in the sky,
the rocks,
the sun and the stars,
the winds and the clouds...
How do they know where to crash?
Where to fly? Where to skip?
When to rise and set? Where to shine?
Where to blow? Where to move?
They look different each day.
But they've stayed the same--
They exist;
And follow where they're lead.
Who do they follow?
Who told them what to do?
Who created them?
And made their existence so intricately important?
Both complicatedly and simply beautiful?

Psalm 104:27-33
When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
When you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
When you hide your face,
they are terrified;
When you take away their breath,
they die and return to dust.
When you send your Spirit,
they are created,
and YOU renew the face of the earth.

May the glory of the Lord endure forever,
May the Lord rejoice in his works--
he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

Amen!

  1. oh my goodness! how did u find this lovely psalm? i've never come across it! and i needed to read it. thanks so much for your post. i am so overwhelmed by the daunting task of having to write a sermon since i'm preaching for class next wed. it's more a psychological struggle i think--fear of speaking in front of people. so, your post really filled me up and reminded me of things that matter and last before the Creator who sees the big picture. thank youu :)

    and this is besides the point, but as i devoured your words of meditation while holding back my tears, i suddenly was interrupted by this the tune, "poco un poco, everday, poco un poco, every way, Jesus is changing me" sunday school song! and to make it even funnier, i remembered the actions that went with it and the image was playing in my mind! so in one post, i went from mata berkaca-kaca to ketawa terbahak-bahak! thought u might enjoy hearing this. :D

    btw, did u remember to call someone and wish her happy birthday yesterday??

    lastly, I LOVE YOUUUU
    the sunday school tune and action somehow resembles the bubball bunny image in my mind.
